Don't Forget to Clean Your Tongue

Your oral health routine should always include brushing your tongue with your toothbrush or using a tongue scraper, which you can find in the dental products aisle at the drugstore. That’s important because foods can get stuck in the grooves of your tongue, causing bacteria to grow. Other oral health problems that can develop if you don't clean your tongue are a bad taste in your mouth, staining on your tongue, and bad breath, Abayon says.

Children's Dentistry

Our Care for Your KidsDentistry for Kids in Plymouth MI
We are a family practice, so you can be assured we make children of all ages feel comfortable and at ease in our office. We use the latest techniques in children’s dentistry with a thoughtful and attentive approach. During every visit, we encourage proper dental hygiene so children will develop good habits to keep their teeth healthy for years to come. We enjoy watching them grow up and taking care of all their dental needs throughout their formative years.

No More Dental Fears
It is our goal that children grow up without any fear of dental treatments. As parents have happily told us, we are accomplishing just that! Children enjoy their visits to our office, no matter their age. We will always make them feel relaxed and happy to come to their appointments.
Pediatric Dental Care Plymouth MIA Child’s Dentist Is as Important as a Pediatrician
The comfortable environment we maintain for our young patients is important in helping to instill good dental hygiene early in life. Children’s teeth are more susceptible to cavities as they do not always brush well. We advise parents to observe them so they brush properly. As kids tend to eat throughout the day, their teeth are exposed more often to the acid produced from food, which can result in more cavities. Making sure they develop proper dental habits can help to reduce the occurrence of cavities.

Sealants Can Prevent Child Tooth Decay
Dental Sealants Dentist Plymouth MI
Even thorough brushing may not clean all the grooves in a child’s back teeth. When acids and bacteria form plaque, tooth decay will start. When there is decay in a tooth, it has permanent damage that needs a filling or crown. With today’s advancements in dental technology, we can keep this from happening. One application of dental sealants is a preventive treatment we highly recommend for your children.

This is how it is applied to teeth:
After your child’s teeth are cleaned and sterilized, a clear sealant is applied. A curing light is used to bond the sealant to the teeth. This is a quick and easy procedure that takes only a few minutes with no shots or drills necessary. The entire tooth remains intact and the sealant is invisible. This is one of the best preventive treatments to preserve a child’s or adolescent’s teeth.

Smile Makeovers

Look Your Best with a Dazzling Smile!Smile Makeovers Dentist Plymouth MI
We want you to not only look your best but also to feel good! We know that looking good goes hand-in-hand with feeling good. We are pleased to offer you various preventive practices and restorative techniques to achieve the smile you want. With a smile makeover, you can have the beautiful, natural-looking smile of your dreams. Come in to our office and let us tell you about veneers, bonding, whitening, and crowns to remake your smile.

Why Do I Need a Crown?

When a tooth is too decayed or damaged for a filling, a crown would be the solution to save it. A crown adds strength to the existing tooth structure, and the crowns we provide are constructed from the best quality materials. Each one is shaped and appears just like a natural tooth, so you or any one else would never know it is not your real tooth.
Teeth Whitening Dentist Plymouth MIBrilliantly White, Dazzling Teeth
You may have seen this technique on television – it’s power whitening, and it brightens dark and stained teeth in just one to two hours. We use this same technique in our office as it gives your teeth professional-strength whitening that can last for years! We also make custom whitening trays right in our lab for you to take home. We give you supplies and instructions and you can expect brilliant results that are both safe and effective in 1 - 14 days.

Go Beyond Extreme with the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System

Most teeth will respond and result in a brilliant whiteness with power whitening, but severely stained teeth may require the added strength of the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System. Teeth that were stained from taking the antibiotic tetracycline were once thought to have permanent discoloration. But now these teeth can be white again! If you have been disappointed with other techniques, let Dr. Callow show you what can be achieved. He is among the first dentists in this area to offer this treatment to his patients.

Two Visits for a ‘Smile Makeover’
White Dental Fillings Dentist Plymouth MI
We have the answer to imperfections in your smile – porcelain veneers. These thin veneers cover and bond to your teeth to correct misshapen teeth, extreme discoloration, and gaps between teeth. They are made from durable dental ceramic and best of all, they look natural.

No More Mercury or Metals
Many patients are familiar with the silver-mercury amalgam material for fillings. Patients were unhappy with this type of filling as they detracted from the beauty of their smile – they were a visible, ugly black area in a tooth. Dr. Callow does not use this type of filling in his practice, but instead only natural-looking composite resin fillings that contain no metal. This type of filling can be matched to the shade of your real tooth to give a gorgeous smile. They bond well to teeth to reduce the chance of decay and actually add strength to a tooth.
